About

Formed by composer and keyboardist Gordon Hulbert, "Eat Logic" combines Gordon's love of improvised music with a long-awaited ambition to collaborate with band members from diverse but complementary parts of the UK music scene. Gordon himself includes work with the likes of Chaka Khan, Hugh Masekela, Salif Keita, Alexander O’Neal and Burt Bacharach and in this band he has brought together a complex mixture of electronica, soul, funk and acoustic music using musicians that he knew could bring this concept to life. Gordon likes to describe the project as "future jazz" (not quite sure what that is but sounds intriguing) and has co-opted performers who have helped to define the sound of UK underground music with the likes of Bob Moses, Trilok Gurtu, Jason Rebello and Courtney Pine to work together with members of groundbreaking British acts like Massive Attack, Basement Jaxx and Moloko. This unique combination of influences allows the band, as Gordon describes it "to blend cutting-edge soundscapes seamlessly with more traditional acoustic jazz elements. As well as Gordon, the musicians in question are: Alison Limerick (The James Taylor Quartet, Vibrasonic, Courtney Pine)-vocals, who was signed as a solo artist with BMG Records, scoring world-wide hits with ‘Where Love Lives’, ‘Make It On My Own’ and ‘Love Come Down’; Roberto Manzin (Bob Moses, Jason Rebello, Rumer)-saxes; Kevin Robinson (Courtney Pine, Jazz Jamaica All Stars, Matt Bianco, Incognito, The Brand New Heavies, Paul McCartney)-trumpet; John Myers (Shane MacGowan, Kylie Minogue, Imagination)-guitar, keys, fiddle, Irish flute, vocals; Winston Blissett (Massive Attack, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Down To The Bone, Basement Jaxx, Reel People, Dub Colossus Protect The Beat)-bass and Jerry Brown (Courtney Pine, Roy Ayers, Incognito, Mica Paris, Girls Aloud, Jamelia, Westlife)-drums....
