Sheffield University Big Band at Sheffield Jazz at Millennium Hall

The classic big-band sound is still going strong, safe in the hands of this exciting ensemble. A wide variety of great music, played to the highest standard, with a range of burning energy through to tasteful subtlety that is the hallmark of the format.

Sheffield Jazz presents Sheffield University’s most active and exciting jazz ensemble, organised and led entirely by current SU students. It will include: drums, bass, guitar, keys, baritone/tenor/alto/soprano saxes, tenor/bass trombones, trumpets, and vocalists.

Performing at every opportunity – concerts, balls, festivals and more – SUBB strives to provide musicians with the opportunity to play a variety of great music to the highest standard in a fun, and inclusive environment. The music will include classic vocal numbers such as ‘Fever’ and ‘Big Spender’ and big band covers such as ‘I Wish’, plus numbers full of big brassy licks and energy.
