Jazz Journal

Jazz Journal draws on 62 years of service to the jazz world to bring perception and expertise to its coverage of the whole spectrum of jazz. Content is a mixture of features, reviews (some 60 CD assessments a month) and contributor and reader opinion. Among those featured in 2008-9 were Benny Golson, Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins, Dave McKenna, Thelonious Monk, Allan Ganley, Phil Woods, Ornette Coleman, Mike Gibbs and Lionel Hampton. Founded by Sinclair Traill in 1948 and directed by Eddie Cook from 1978-2009, Jazz Journal has since May 2009 been edited by former JJ deputy Mark Gilbert. It is published monthly in London, England.
