Jazz Perspectives is an international peer-reviewed journal entirely devoted to jazz scholarship.

As a refereed academic journal, Jazz Perspectives bridges the jazz-as-music and jazz-as-culture divide of contemporary jazz studies, and promotes broader international perspectives on the jazz tradition and its legacy. As an interdisciplinary platform for jazz studies, the journal considers all articles reporting on original research and analysis (musical, historical, cultural, or otherwise). The journal furthermore includes reviews and essays on significant recent literature and new recordings and media. The journal is published biannually with issues released each April and October.
